NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO START, OR FINISH, YOUR DEGREE!

As an adult learner at вʿª½±, you bring a wealth of life experience and knowledge to the campus.

JEFFERSON COLLEGE RECOGNIZES THE KEY CHALLENGES FACING ADULT LEARNERS

Balancing School, Life, and Work

Finding the time to work, attend classes, take care of children, study, and sleep — all within 24 hours — can feel impossible for busy adult learners.  That is why вʿª½± takes pride in offering you flexible schedules, AAS Degrees and Certificate options that take you straight from classroom to a career, partnerships with four-year universities that allow you to continue your education, as well as many online and hybrid options. We are committed to your academic success every step of the way.

Financing a College Education

Most students worry about whether they can afford a college education and adult learners are no different. Those with children or other family members to care for may find it especially difficult to pay for their education. вʿª½± is one of the most cost-effective choices among Missouri colleges and universities, offering an outstanding value and many financial assistance opportunities.  In addition to federal and state grants, we offer many вʿª½± specific scholarships.  We also encourage you to search the web for additional resources created just for adult learners.

Lack of Support

Let’s face it - adult students can face many obstacles! вʿª½± is committed to providing you with a welcoming and supportive environment! You can get to know other adult students by joining a student group.  If you are concerned about childcare, we have you covered!  With вʿª½±â€™s Early Childhood Center, both you and your child can be on campus at the same time.  If you need a part-time job while attending school, contact our Workforce and Employment Services Office for help writing resumes, networking, and employment opportunities. You can also check out opportunities to work on campus.

Applying to вʿª½± is the first step to a whole new world of possibilities- because we are in this together. If you're nervous or need someone to walk along side you through the process we have an admissions representative just for you and she has been adult student herself. For help getting started at вʿª½±, please contact Jessica Bartlett, Admissions Representative, at 636-481-3245 or email jbartle2@jeffco.edu.
